Release Day Blast! CORSICA GATE by Robena Grant

Enter to Win a
$20.00 Amazon or B&N eGift Card

A heroine who has stopped believing in fairy tales and happy endings, Dia Sophia Romani, jilted three days before her wedding, has lived with Mama in San Diego’s Little Italy for six months. She’s tired of everything Italian, and is ready to move on…

Enter an unlikely hero. Carlo Antonelli is of Italian descent. He adores Dia, but he’s willing to take his time and not rush her. When he learns she will be vacationing in Italy and Corsica, he must step up his game.

Will a wish made at a magical gate destroy, or strengthen, their newfound love?

“You mean…?” She looked back at the guy.

Nah, impossible. I’ve never been that lucky.

“Yeah, that’s Carlo Antonelli.”

“You don’t want to accept the date, just make up whatever excuse you want.” Tony beckoned.

A jolt of heat spread through her abdomen when Carlo grinned and waved. He ducked through the slow moving traffic and stopped in front of her smiling a crooked smile. Pushing his sunglasses onto his head, white teeth flashing, and mahogany eyes sparkling, he held out his right hand.

My wedding date? Her heartbeat pounded, and her mouth went dry.

“You must be Dia.” He tucked the book underneath one arm and held her hand gently with his other big warm hand. “Carlo Antonelli.”

“Yes.” The word came out on a soft breath. She swallowed hard. “Tony mentioned you wanted to speak to me about Marco’s wedding.” Something inside of her shifted, as if a huge iceberg started to melt in her chest and slide sideways, leaving a pool of cool, blue, bubbling water. She floundered for a minute wondering what to say next, because she couldn’t use the word date. Not while looking into his magnificent eyes. Then she remembered he was Italian, or at least part Italian.

Strike one.

Her shoulders stiffened. She had no interest in Italian men. She hitched up the purse onto her shoulder, and squinted from behind the dark sunglasses.

Rodeo!

The rodeo came to town over the weekend, and I am so excited that I got to go this year! I haven't been to a rodeo since I was...gosh, I think I was thirteen. Yikes that's a long time! LOL.

It was so much fun! They started the night off with some Liberty Work, which amazes me every time I see it. I've never had the opportunity to see it in person, so this was a real treat for me. I've only ever seen Liberty Work done on the show Heartland (love that show) so it was really neat to finally experience it in real life. I did get some pictures, but I only had my phone so they aren't the greatest pictures--I'm going to post them anyway :)

There was also some Roman Riding and Trick Riding--which was AWESOME! This young girl performed along with the woman who did the Liberty Work and she was so good!

And of course I can't leave out the Bareback Riding, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding!

Such a great time, and I even got to meet some of the riders afterwards! I absolutely cannot wait to go again next year :)

Favorite Song Friday - "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran

Fridays are now dedicated to my current favorite song :) Aboout 90% of the time my radio is tuned to a local country station. I love country music <3 But the other 10% of the time I listen to pretty much whatever fits my mood. So yesterday I heard this beautiful song for the first time and instantly became obsessed. And the music video for it is by far one of the best I have ever seen. I love the dancing, I love the camera work, I love the emotion behind it all--I JUST LOVE IT!!!

Random Wednesday Post

^ How do you like that post title? LOL. I'm not really a fan of titling my blog posts, mainly because I just never know what to call them.

Anyway...

I missed a few blogging days so I thought I'd stop in real quick and say "Hi." Luke's book has been keeping me pretty busy, and I know I keep saying this but I'm having SO much fun writing it. As with my other books, I have my trusty readers (aka. my mom and my best friend) on task of reading the story as I write it. They are loving it so far! One of my favorite comments was from my best friend the other day. She texted me after reading what I'd just given her and said, "OMG! I am cracking up over here." I love bringing humor into my stories and giving people a little chuckle with my characters' antics :)

Hope y'all are having an awesome day!

Sexy Saturday: Teaser from ZANE

Excerpt from ZANE

“Close your eyes,” he whispered and smiled crookedly at her confused expression. “Please, Andi. I’m not going to do anything weird or hurt you. Now, close your eyes.”
Slowly her eyes fluttered shut and she was consumed in darkness with nothing but the sound of the frogs and the crickets and the water rippling around their bodies. Zane moved his hand to tangle his fingers in the damp, thick locks at the back of her neck as he slowly pulled her closer to him. His lips brushed against hers with careful, fleeting movements. Once. Twice. And on the third he parted his lips slightly, dipping his tongue out to trace her bottom lip. He moved both of his hands then, cupping her jaw with his thumbs resting in the hollow point beneath her ears.
When Zane moved in to kiss her again, Andi parted her lips and welcomed him most eagerly. His touch was soft, tender, and oh so thorough. Her head was buzzing from the slow, torturous kisses and that intoxicating feeling began to travel throughout the rest of her body, making her limbs numb and her knees begin to shake.
She pulled herself closer to him, attempting to plaster her body to his. Zane broke the kiss, moving his hands to her waist and feathering kisses along her jaw and down her neck. One hand slid up her taut stomach, grazed her ribcage and settled on her breast, teasing the hardened tip with the pad of his thumb.
“Oh, Zane.” Andi moaned and tilted her head back as Zane continued to torture her with his warm lips against her throat and his work-roughed hands against her breast.
He toyed, he teased and the more he did the more the aching need to have him inside of her grew. His hand moved from her breast then, and she was just about to protest when she felt his hand glide along the curve of her hip and settle there, his thumb tracing lazy circles on her heated skin.
“Andi,” he said, his voice low and husky.
“Hmm,” she replied, the sound coming out more of a content moan rather than an actual “yes I’m listening” sound.
“You can open your eyes now.”
Had she been keeping them shut the entire time? She let out a soft laugh and opened her eyes, blinking a few times until her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the night sky. After a few brief moments she lifted her eyes and found herself lost in Zane’s familiar blue gaze. Every bit of desire and lust that she was feeling was reflected in his own eyes.
He cocked his head to the side and a sly smile spread across his face. “So are you still feeling nervous?” The hand on her hip moved painfully slow to the more sensitive skin of her inner thigh, inching closer and closer to her sweet spot, then retreating and making that agonizing journey back up her thigh.
“Yes,” she sighed because, God, she wanted him to keep going. But then she quickly remembered his question and said, “I mean no.”
Zane smiled and kissed the corner of her mouth, along her jaw and lightly grazed his teeth on her earlobe. “Well, which is it? Yes or no?” His voice was low and raspy and just the sound of it as it hit her ear made her stomach coil with anticipation.
“No, I’m not nervous anymore.” How she even got the words out was beyond her. They came out so soft and rushed together that she was surprised he even understood her. Her heart was beating so fast and she desperately tried to keep her breathing calm and even, but was failing miserably.
“What do you want me to do, Andi?” he asked against the hollow of her neck, sucking gently on the tender spot between her neck and shoulder.
She shuddered.
He did it again.
       Oh dear God.

About the Book

Leaving her fancy clothes and expensive lifestyle behind her, she trades in her high heels for cowboy boots and changes her name to Andi Ford. With her painful past threatening to catch up with her hiding out in this small town seems easy enough—until one blond hair, blue eyed cowboy steps in the picture.
…Will she find it in the arms of a cowboy?
Zane McKade has sworn off women, determining that they are all liars and cheats—including the new waitress at the local bar. After a rather unpleasant first encounter with the beautiful brunette, Zane’s radar is set to high as he believes this woman is not who she claims to be. When his intimidation methods fail to break through Andi’s barrier he decides to turn on the charm to get her to tell the truth. But Zane’s plan begins to backfire as the more time he spends charming Andi the more he finds himself breaking his own rules and falling for her.

Review! EMMYLOU by Krista Kedrick

Overachieving Emmylou Bennett is working hard to reach baking greatness and prove her parents wrong. But her dream is quickly slipping through her fingers as one catastrophe follows another. Let’s not even talk about her train-wreck of a love life. Isn’t there one good man in this little prairie town?

Shane Newbury is getting settled in as the new doctor in Primrose and running from the horrors of a terrible accident when he finds himself involuntarily playing the hero to one pigheaded woman. And he can’t get her off his mind. Every day he fights his growing attraction to the feisty baker who is stealing his hardened heart.

Can Shane and Emmylou overcome every obstacle to be together or will the past be too much for their love to handle?

MY REVIEW

In this second book of The Doves of Primrose by Krista Kedrick, we follow the story of Emmylou Bennett and Shane Newbury.

When we meet Emmylou in this book she is recovering from a recent break-up with the man she thought she’d spend her life with. Shane enters the picture as the new doctor in town, and when the two of them meet sparks fly—and not in a good way. They absolutely detest each other and bicker for a good ninety percent of the book, and even though that may seem like a lot it does work for their characters (even if I did want to grab Emmy by the shoulders and shake some sense into her at times.)

Emmy is such a strong-willed woman who cares immensely for those around her and I admired her drive to keep going when her world came crashing down. Shane is a just a really nice guy who is super sweet and caring. He also has a protective side that I really enjoyed. And they both have a stubborn streak that could put some people to shame J But when they weren’t bickering and actually being civil with one another, their relationship was so darn sweet.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I laughed out loud at times and wore a goofy grin for probably a good half of the story. If you’re looking for a feel good read with some elements of suspense and romance than I recommend you check this one out.

*I purchased this book for my own reading enjoyment. These thoughts are my own and are no way influenced by others.

Cover Reveal! DEATH AND DESIRE by P. H. Turner

Death and Desire
P.H. Turner
Releasing March 17th, 2015
Lyrical Press

Ancient rituals. Up-to-the minute deception.

Reporter Taylor McWhorter knows something is going on at the newly reopened uranium mine on the local Navajo reservation. The Native workers are being fired. Rumors of bad Native American spirits and shapeshifters mingle with the stink of leach pit mining. The rough red mountains and steep canyons hide more passes and getaway trails than any maze. And Taylor’s sources keep turning up dead…

Until she meets Captain Trace Yazzie, head of the tribal police force and plenty to reckon with on his own. The chemistry between them is enough to incinerate Taylor’s rule about mixing business and pleasure. But with a murderer on the loose, priceless Navajo artifacts turning up in the wrong places, and Trace’s suggestion that spirits disturbed from looted burial sites might be part of the problem, Taylor can’t afford to lose her head to lust. This might be the story of the year. But unless she keeps her wits about her, it could be the last one Taylor ever tells…

Sexy Saturday: Teaser from NORAH

Soooo, I thought it might be fun to start something new on my blog and share some sexy teasers from my published books :) I would also like to go ahead an extend an open invitation for all of my fellow romance authors to join me! If you're interested in sharing a sexy teaser from any of your published novels, please contact me at kimberlylewisnovels@gmail.com

Excerpt from NORAH

“I don’t know what it is about you, Norah,” he said, deepening his voice into a throaty rumble. “But I just can’t seem to get enough of you.”
Norah placed her own beer on the table next to his. She then brought her hands to the back of his neck and slid them up so she could run her fingers through the hair on the back of his head.
“So what are you gonna do about it?” Norah asked, her voice breathless and sexy.
That comment shocked the hell out of him. Of all the responses he’d imagined her saying, that wasn’t one of them.
Instantly turned on by her directness, Chase cupped her jaw in both of his hands and reeled her in for a kiss. He herded her against the wall, and only then did his lips leave hers. Her fingers curled into his hair harder as he trailed hot, wet open mouth kisses along her jaw and down her neck.
Norah moaned, and Chase thought he’d lose it. The sound of her pleasure vibrated in his ear and traveled straight down to his manhood. He felt her hands pulling at the hem of his shirt, attempting to free it from his jeans. He, too, moved his hands and snaked them up and underneath her shirt, feeling that warm, silky skin he’d been craving since he’d left her earlier.
Buttons were undone. His shirt hit the floor.
Chase grabbed Norah’s shirt by the hem, pulled it over her head, and tossed it to the floor with his.
       Damn.

****

Never before had she had a sexual encounter like this—raw and passionate. Chase’s hands were everywhere, lighting her on fire and making her crave more of his touch. The feel of his roughened hands and warm lips on her skin was almost enough to make her explode.
She needed more.
As fast as her trembling fingers would work, Norah quickly undid Chase’s shirt and pushed it from his shoulders. God, the man was incredibly built—lean yet muscular. Her shirt went next, and she froze as Chase stared at her. His eyes roamed over every inch and every curve of her body, and when they returned to hers, they were smoldering. She couldn’t believe how much that one look turned her on—just knowing that she did that, that she put that look in his eyes.
And then Chase’s lips crushed against hers, and she let out a soft gasp as he lifted her to him. With his hands cradling her butt, Norah wrapped her legs around his waist and continued to kiss him as he walked them into the living room. She felt the sensation of falling, and the next thing she knew her back was pressed against the sofa cushions.

About the Book

He may not be a cowboy… But that won’t stop him from wrangling her heart.
Chase O’Donnell is the proud new owner of the Caldwell Ranch—or maybe he’s not so proud. Annoyed would be more like it. After receiving the news of his inheritance, Chase’s first thought is to sell the ranch and be done with it—until one night with a beautiful blonde at a local honky-tonk has him changing his tune…
Norah McKade is surprised by her instant attraction to the handsome new stranger, and even more surprised when she finds out he’s her new neighbor. But with Chase only being in town for a short amount of time, Norah determines getting tangled up with him a bad idea and promptly places Chase in the friend zone.
Although a bit reluctant, Chase agrees to Norah’s terms—but he’s not about to deny or ignore the fact that there’s more between them than just sexual attraction. He’ll have to pull out all the stops to get her to change her mind and prove to her that it wouldn’t be such a bad thing for her to fall in love with him.

So, I did something new...

For the first time in my writing career, I wrote the synopsis for my book before I've even completed it. Does anyone else do that? I'm such a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of writer, so most of the time when I go into a story I'm not really sure where I'll end up (even though I have a general idea of what I want to happen for my characters). But this time it's just different for some reason.

So the synopsis or blurb, whatever you want to call it, for Luke's book is done--as is the cover. I am itching to share it but I know I need to hold off for just a little bit because I'm still in the early stages of the story :) I know that's such a horrible tease, but I promise I'll share it as soon as I can.

Announcing the re-release of WHEN THE HEART FALLS

I am so excited to be announcing the re-release of my first novel, WHEN THE HEART FALLS, with this brand new beautiful cover! I've submitted the updated manuscript to Amazon and Barnes & Noble so it should be available very soon. For those of you who've read and love the original story, don't worry I didn't change any of that :) The only thing I did to the manuscript was fix some minor errors I found and clean it up just a little. The paperback version received a beautiful new face lift as well and I cannot wait to receive my physical copy.

So what do y'all think of the new cover? I'd love to hear your thoughts so please feel free to leave a comment below.

Doing some edits and an excerpt...

I mentioned a couple of posts ago on my Facebook page that I'm in the process of going through my first novel, WHEN THE HEART FALLS, and doing some minor edits to the manuscript--just fixing some errors that I've found. So after reading through it, I kind of forgot how cute of a story it was, LOL. Dylan and Misty just make me smile, so I thought I'd share an excerpt of one of my favorite scenes

Dylan let out an exasperated sigh. “Misty, please move. I’ve got work to do.”
“No. Not until you talk to me and we get this straightened out. Now where did you get the idea that I was taking Brad back?”
He dropped the bale of hay at his feet, removed his work gloves, and threw them on the floor. “I heard the two of you talking at the hospital.”
“What exactly did you hear?”
“Enough,” he said and took a seat on the bale of hay.
“Well obviously you heard wrong because the conversation I had with him didn’t end with me saying that I’d take him back,” she said heatedly.
“Misty, I heard you tell him that you love him. I think that pretty much sums it all up,” he threw back at her.
“Well maybe if you had stuck around long enough and talked to me you would have learned that I didn’t mean to tell him that I love him,” she yelled back, her voice increasing in volume.
“People don’t just say ‘I love you’, Misty. You had to mean it to say it.”
“I did mean it, Dylan!”
“I rest my case,” he said, throwing his hands up in defeat and moving to a standing position.
“I didn’t mean to say it to Brad. When I said it I thought I was talking to you!” she said, taking a deep breath to calm her anger.
A shocked expression spread across his face. “What?” he almost whispered.
She took another deep breath and replied, “The room was dark and I had just woken up. I remember calling out for you and a voice said ‘I’m here,’” she explained calmly.
He crossed the hay loft floor to where she stood and stopped a foot away from her. “You love me?”
She nodded her head and a slight smile tickled the corners of her mouth. “Yes,” she whispered.

The first thing you need to know about me is that I genuinely believe in true love and soul mates. I met my wonderful husband when we were still at school. I was sixteen, he was seventeen, we are high school sweethearts. Now more than twenty five years later, we are still very much in love and are happily married with two beautiful children. We live in picturesque New Zealand and I consider ourselves lucky to live in this magnificent part of the world.
I do have a full time job, but in my spare minutes I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and reading. I’m an avid reader and tend to chomp through a large volume of books, mainly in the romance genre. And of course my other major ‘hobby’ is writing steamy rock star erotic romances!
I started writing in early 2014. After spending many years writing business documentation, and constantly being inspired by numerous romance novels, I decided to try my hand at fictional writing. After penning my first scene I discovered that I enjoyed it immensely and so resolved to continue with the rest of the story that was swirling in my imagination. That story resulted in my first novel, Heaven Sent.
My Oblivion on Tour Series follows the five band members of the hard rock group Oblivion. Each book in the series follows a different band member and their quest for love.
Book 1 - Heaven Sent - Ash and Eve’s story
Book 2 - Bolt From The Blue - Nikki and Trixie’s story
Books 3, 4 & 5 will each tell Cody, Scott and Hansen’s stories.
I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.
