Country Music Friday - "Get Me Some of That" by Thomas Rhett

My new country singer crush :) I just adore him :)

Quote of the Day 2/24

“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”  ― Apple Inc.

Country Music Friday - "Chillin' It" by Cole Swindell

Loving this song. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can ride with my truck windows down and blare this song!

Book Boyfriends

I think we all have those "book boyfriends" that we'll never forget. My best friend and I have put it on our bucket list to travel to Texas one of these days to find the Luckadeau's from Caroyln Brown's Lucky Series :)
Who is your favorite book boyfriend?

Quote of the Day 2/17

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”
Marilyn Monroe

Country Music Friday - "Lettin' The Night Roll" by Justin Moore

Before we get to the song I just wanted to pop in real quick and wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day! May you be surrounded by love and happiness :)

Hidden Talents

Growing up, my talent was art. I was the kid that was always doodling, coloring, etc and that's why for the longest time I wanted to be an illustrator for children's books. But as I got older, I kind of got out of the whole art scene and decided to pursue other things. Over the years I've still done artsy things but I haven't just sat down and sketched anything. So when my son asked me to draw him his favorite ninja turtle I took the opportunity to see if my talent is what it used to be. What do y'all think?

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out...minus those stinkin' letters. I can draw a ninja turtle but can't make attractive letters to match the picture--weird. I might try to sketch and draw more as time allows it because this was a really fun project. If I do I'll make sure to share my work with you :)
Do you have any hidden talents?

Still Writing

For those of you who are wondering, I am still working on Norah's story. I know, I know. It's been forever and a day and the book should have been out by now. But life happens and when it does it causes some set backs. I'm sorry. I still don't have a set release date so I'm sorry I can't share that. But what I can share is a little snippet from my work in progress :) I love Aunt Belle and she honestly cracks me up so I hope you all enjoy this little teaser. Please keep in mind that this hasn't been edited and can be changed slightly upon the final draft. Enjoy :)
Belle shook her head and slid the mug away from Norah. “Uh-uh, honey. This ain’t for you.” “Oh,” Norah said, gently folding her hands onto her lap. “Sorry.” “I’ll get you a cup in a sec,” Belle said. Her lips twisted into a mischievous grin. “But first I’ve got to take this over to that hot thang occupying my center booth.” Amused by her aunt’s behavior, Norah turned to see this “hot thang” her…

Cooking with Kim

I don't know what it is lately but I've really been on a kick of making things from scratch. Bread, Aunt Anne's Soft Pretzels, Pizza, etc. I get a lot of enjoyment from it and it's a fun way to get my kids involved (and actually get them to eat--they can be picky eaters). Here's a pic of the beauty I made last night...

Okay, so maybe it's not the prettiest pizza :)

Even though this pizza was yummy it's still not "the perfect pizza". I'm having trouble finding a really good dough recipe. My husband and I really like a New York style crust, thin and foldable. I've tried many different recipes and, although they taste good, they aren't what we're looking for. With that being said, if any of you who have a really great New York style pizza dough recipe and are willing to share let me know!

I hope you all are having a great day! Talk to you soon!

Visit Me On Facebook

Happy Wednesday to you all! I hope that you are having an awesome week so far and that it keeps getting better!

I'm starting to post more things here on the blog (as of this week). I've really missed interacting with all of you who do stop by to read my ramblings and I'm sorry for slackin' off. Coming up with things to post here AND trying to write my novels is a little hard sometimes. So I can't promise that what I post on here will always be the most interesting of posts, but they'll be honest and give you a peak into my day to day life.

With that being said, I hope you are visiting me on Facebook and/or Twitter as well. I find those a little easier than the blog sometimes because I can share other things from people/pages I like. Like for (and every Wednesday) is what I'm calling "Hot Guy Wednesday" (not the greatest title but it gets the point across *wink wink*).

I hope to see you all there! Have a great day!

Movies, Books, and Wikipedia...Oh My!

So I finally got around to watching "The Hunger Games" and I've got to say that I really enjoyed. And before you say anything, no I have not read the book and yes I know that the book is 100 times better than the movie. I do plan on reading all of the books in the very near future :) I'm really looking forward to watching the second movie as well (and the third and fourth when they come out). But in true Kim fashion I can't ever wait for anything so I went on Wikipedia and looked up the plot details. LOL. I know what's going to happen and I still want to read the books (and see the movie).

I have a really bad habit of Wikiing (is that a word?) things.  I'll wait until someone posts the details of a movie on Wiki before I spend the money to go see it. Drives my husband nuts but--what can I say?--I'm just not one for surprises. Speaking of the hubs, I wonder if I can talk him into watching "The Hunger Games" movies with me? I've sort of lo…
