A "McKade" Update...sort of :)

I've had quite a few people ask about the next McKade book and when it's going to be released, so I figured I'd put a little post together to give y'all an update on what's going on.

First let me tell you why the book isn't out yet (because I know that a year between series books is crazy long). Around the time I released Zane I already had 25k words (out of 70k +) completed in Norah's story with the intention of having it released Dec 2012/Jan 2013 time. However something happened with the story that called for a MAJOR rewrite. I'm talking scrap the whole darn thing and start all over kind of rewrite....which sucked. I am currently working on the new version and my plan is to have Norah's story out later this year.

I really, REALLY appreciate y'all asking about the book and letting me know how excited you are to read it. Reaching out to me like that really makes my day! I promise I'll keep y'all updated and if by any chance I can get the book out any sooner I will :)

First, let me thank you for taking time to stop by my blog:) This year I'll be giving you a small selection to choose from: my very first novel, When the Heart Falls, my second novel (and first in my The McKades of Texas series), Zane, and last but not least one of my all time favorite cowboy romances by one of my favorite authors, Tall, Dark and Cowboy by Joanne Kennedy.

All you have to do is fill out the entry form below with your name, email, and ebook selection. There will be three different winners and they will be randomly chosen on August 1st and notified via the email address provided. Thanks again for stopping by my blog and don't forget to check out the other blogs on the hop!

***These books do have some steamy content and use of adult language. They are not by any means erotica but due some of the content I ask that only those who are 18+ enter the drawing. Thank you!

When the Heart Falls

When Misty Prescott moved back home to her parent’s ranch after catching her husband cheating on her, she couldn’t have possibly known that she’d fall for not one, but two cowboys at the same time. Nor could she have known that getting involved with both men would bring unwelcome excitement, turning her already messed up world completely upside down. As Misty’s relationship with Vance Kinney begins, she can’t help but develop an intense attraction to her best friend’s older brother, Dylan McCoy. But just as Misty makes her choice, she indirectly becomes the target of one horrific event after another. Now, Misty must fight the very obstacles that threaten to tear her apart from the man she loves, and survive the danger lurking around every corner that threatens their very lives.

ZANE

Kellan Anderson is in hillbilly hell – or at least that’s what it feels like. After enduring endless accounts of abuse from her now ex-boyfriend, Kellan makes a run for her life and finds herself in cowboy country. Leaving her fancy clothes and expensive lifestyle behind her, she trades in her high heels for cowboy boots and changes her name to Andi Ford. With her painful past threatening to catch up with her, hiding out in this small town seems easy enough – until one blonde hair, blue eyed cowboy steps in the picture.
Zane McKade has sworn off women, determining that they are all liars and cheats – including the new waitress at the local bar. After a rather unpleasant first encounter with the beautiful brunette, Zane’s radar is set to high as he believes this woman is not who she claims to be. When his intimidation methods fail to break through Andi’s barrier he decides to turn on the charm to get her to tell the truth. But Zane’s plan begins to backfire as the more time he spends charming Andi, the more he finds himself breaking his own rules and falling for her.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy 4th of July, everyone! Today my family and I are spending the day relaxing and enjoying each others company. We'll probably spend some time in the pool and have a lot of outside time since the weather is going to be nice today (hot but no rain...we've had sooooo much rain lately that I still have standing water in parts of my yard). Later we'll be attending our good friends' BBQ and watching some fireworks. I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of people I haven't seen in a while and catching up!

I hope y'all are having a great day and that you have a safe and fun holiday!

My "Uncharted: An On the Island Novella" by Tracey Garvis Graces Review

Uncharted: An On the Island Novella
By: Tracey Garvis Graves
Publisher: Penguin
Publication Date: July 2, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance

When twenty-three-year-old dot-com millionaire Owen Sparks walked away from his charmed life, he had one goal in mind: get as far away as possible from the people who resented his success, or had their hand out for a piece of it. A remote uncharted island halfway around the world seemed like a perfectly logical place to get away from it all.

Calia Reed wasn't part of Owen's plans. The beautiful British girl - on holiday in the Maldives with her brother, James - made Owen wonder if getting away from it all might be a lot more enjoyable with a carefree girl who didn't know anything about the life he left behind.

But Owen had no idea how much his carefully detailed plans would go awry. Nor did he realize that a decision he made would have such a catastrophic effect on two passengers who boarded a plane in Chicago.

And when Owen shows up at Anna and T.J.'s door with an incredible story to tell, everyone involved will learn just how much their lives are intertwined.

Uncharted includes an early look at Covet, coming September 2013.

My Thoughts:
Another winner from Tracy Garvis Graves! I have to say that I got a little more than excited when I saw a follow-up story to Anna and TJ’s. I hated parting with those characters when I finished On the Island and it was wonderful to visit with them again…even if it were for a short amount of time.
Uncharted is the story of Owen Sparks; the man presumed to be the pile of bones Anna and TJ found in a cave during their time deserted on the island. Owen, a dot-com millionaire and clearly still very much alive, shows up on Anna and TJ’s doorstep years after they’ve been rescued and asks to share his story with them. Intrigued, they invite him in and listen to what he has to say. The story flashes back and forth from Owen’s memories (or him telling the story of his time on the island) to the present and we get a glimpse into Anna and TJ’s reactions to what Owen is telling them.
I loved Owen’s story and how it was his choice to be stranded on a deserted island (a choice he made in an effort to bring some much needed peace into his life). It was nice seeing the island as more of a place of solitude than the violent death trap it was in Anna and TJ’s story. Owen called the shots and when he felt the need for some human interaction he traveled back to the mainland with the seaplane pilot who brought him supplies regularly. He chooses this lifestyle for year (building himself a small house for shelter) and it’s around this time where he travels back to the mainland and meets Calia Reed. He invites her to come back to the island with him and she agrees (although he’s skeptical that she’ll actually come). The next morning Calia arrives at the airport along with her brother, James. She quickly explains to Owen that her brother refused to just let her jet off with a strange man to some deserted island to which Owen understands completely and extends the invitation to James as well. The three settle in on the island and soon Owen and Calia find themselves falling in love. But just as their romance begins, a terrible tragedy happens and shortly after Owen makes one single decision that changes Anna and TJ’s lives forever.
This is a great, romantic story with a very satisfying ending and is short enough to be read in one sitting (I did because I just couldn’t put it down!).
Oh, and if you by any chance haven’t read On the Island be sure to check it out. If you want to know my opinion on that as well you can read my review here.
My Rating:
5 out of 5 stars
Book Content:
This novel contains adult language (some strong language is used from time to time), sexual situations, and very mild violence (not person against person violence but nature against human violence).

Hey!

Happy Monday, y'all! I hope you're having a great day so far. I can't believe it's JULY already! Things have been pretty good in my neck of the woods. My husband and I have been taking advantage of the good weather to get some work done around our house. We've got the majority of the big projects done so now I'll be able to focus on my writing a little better. Things are moving along slowly with Norah's story but don't worry, I promise I'll get it done as soon as I possibly can. I'm hoping to get to a point here soon where I'm comfortable sharing bits and pieces of the story :) I'll keep y'all posted along the way!
