Country Music Friday - "Baby's Got Her Bluejeans On" by Mel McDaniel

Decided to play some older country music today and this song is one of my favorites:) Enjoy!

News for Nook Owners

I'm in the process of making my current novel, "When the Heart Falls", available for Nook owners:) As soon as I have it ready I will let y'all know. It may take me a few days but I'm hoping it will be an easier process since the last time I did it, lol. I'm also going to try to make print copies available as well. Lots of stuff to do and I'll make sure to keep you guys posted!

Things are going good:)

Things are moving along nicely with my edits for "Zane"...Yay:) I'm working on some rewrites now and then fixing any stupid little errors I may have made. Then it's off to my editor for final approval. I am so excited and I really hope y'all enjoy reading it! I've also been thinking a lot lately about the next two stories in this series and what's going to take place. So many ideas are flowing through my head and I am writing them down as they come to me. I have word documents saved with nothing but ideas and certain scenes and I can't wait to put them all together. But Zane's story needs to come first so right now he's my priority:)Have a great day everyone!

Book Promotion - What do you really need to do?

So I've been thinking a lot lately about things I need to do promotion wise for my new novel, and I was hoping to get some input from you all. I plan on posting excerpts in the near future and I'm also doing a book tour. But the one thing I'm not real sure if I need to do is a book trailer. I had never seen or heard of these before until I published my first novel, and I thought the idea for it was neat but I just wonder how effective they really are at promoting your work. What's your opinion? Do you like book trailers? Have you ever wanted to read a book just because of the trailer, or do you find the traditional way of reading the synopsis better? I'd love some feedback on this so please feel free to leave a comment or email me directly (see "contact me" page for email address). Thanks everyone and have a great Monday!

My "Cowboy Fever" by Joanne Kennedy Review

She thought she had it all...
A modeling contract with Wrangler got this Miss Rodeo Wyoming a first-class ticket out of town, but somewhere along the way Jodi Brand lost her soul. When she gets back to her hometown, her childhood friend Teague Treadwell's rugged cowboy charm hits her like a ton of bricks...
He believed he wasn't good enough...
Teague is convinced Jodi's success lifted her out of his reach. Now he's got to shed his bad boy image to be worthy of the girl next door...
But whoever heard of a beauty queen settling for a down and dirty cowboy...

My Review: I absolutely adored this novel! It had such a satisfying love story, lovable characters, some unexpected mystery and suspense, and some pretty steamy love scenes. Jodi is a former rodeo queen and has recently moved back to her hometown where she plans to start her own therapeutic clinic for the sick and disabled. On her first day back in town she runs into Teague, the town bad boy who has turned into a responsib…

First of all I would like to wish all the fathers out there a Happy Belated Father's Day:) I had a post all set up for yesterday and I must not have saved it or something because it has disappeared. Weird.Anyway, I hope y'all had a great weekend! Mine was great. It was relaxing (although we were usual). Saturday I met with my editor and - drumroll please - she's done! Interview & Review with Author Cindy McDonald

Today I have the pleasure of hosting author Cindy McDonald to my blog! Cindy is on tour for her new novel, "Hot Coco" and today we are going to be chatting a little bit about that along with how she became a writer.

Welcome Cindy!

KL: I read in your author bio that you made a living for years as a professional dancer and choreographer. How did you go from dancer to writer?

CD: That’s right, for the past twenty-six years my life has whirled around a song and a dance: I have been a professional dancer/choreographer for most of my adult life and never gave much thought to a writing career until 2005.  I  seriously wish that  I knew what took place, but suddenly I felt drawn to my computer to write about things I have experienced (greatly exaggerated upon of course) with my husband’s Thoroughbreds and happenings at the racetrack. Surprised? Why didn’t I write about my experiences with dance? Eh, believe it or not life at the racetrack is much more…racy. The drama is outrageous--not …

We have a synopsis!

Finally got the synopsis done for my new novel! Here it is...

Kellan Anderson is in hillbilly hell – or at least that’s what it feels like. After enduring endless accounts of abuse from her now ex-boyfriend, Kellan makes a run for her life and finds herself in cowboy country. Leaving her fancy clothes and expensive lifestyle behind her, she trades in her high heels for cowboy boots and changes her name to Andi Ford. With her painful past threatening to catch up with her, hiding out in this small town seems easy enough – until one blonde hair, blue eyed cowboy steps in the picture. Zane McKade has sworn off women, determining that they are all liars and cheats – including the new waitress at the local bar. After a rather unpleasant first encounter with the beautiful brunette, Zane’s radar is set to high as he believes this woman is not who she claims to be. When his intimidation methods fail to break through Andi’s barrier he decides to turn on the charm to get her to tell the truth. But…

Writing Quote of the Day

"I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions."
-James A. Michener

Is it Monday already???

I can't believe it's Monday already. It feels like this weekend didn't even exist! Of course we were busy (as usual, never a dull moment in our house) so I'm sure that has a lot to do with the time flying by. I did get a chance to finally work on the cover for my new book coming out soon. I'll be posting a picture of it on the blog sometime this week:) I am meeting with my editor this weekend and I will hopefully be getting my manuscript back from her very soon. Pretty exciting stuff:) When I get more information on the release date of the book I'll be sure to let y'all know. Well, that's all I've got for today folks. Have a great Monday!
